Our Story: Two Journeys, One Vision

Founded in 2017, Capa Concrete, Inc. was born from the combined expertise and determination of two passionate individuals—Norma and Rolando. Together, they saw the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the construction industry, creating a company that delivers high-quality, customized concrete solutions for projects of all sizes.

Norma's Journey:
Breaking Barriers

Norma’s path to co-founding Capa Concrete was anything but traditional. Initially working in the home building and remodeling sector, she often found herself needing concrete for various projects. Frustrated with unreliable suppliers, she made the bold decision to buy her own mixer truck. That decision grew into a passion, and over the years, she expanded her fleet to over 10 trucks, providing concrete not only for her own projects but also for others who struggled to get the same reliable service.

Norma faced many challenges as a woman in a male-dominated industry. From suppliers refusing to sell her concrete to constant rejection due to the size of her business, she persevered. Instead of seeing obstacles, she saw opportunities. She built Capa Concrete to ensure that everyone—from major contractors to smaller projects—could access top-quality concrete without discrimination. Her drive has been fueled by a vision of inclusivity and proving that women, too, can lead in the construction field.

Rolandos Journey:
Building The Future

With over 15 years of experience in the concrete industry, Rolando’s background is deeply rooted in technical expertise. He began his career at Webber, where he spent eight years learning the ins and outs of the concrete business. From hands-on maintenance to lab testing, Rolando developed a fascination with the complexities of concrete. His passion for creating something that would last generations led him to work on large-scale projects at McMahan and Austin Bridge, where he gained experience coordinating concrete operations for infrastructure developments such as highways, bridges, and rail projects.

Rolando’s love for concrete doesn’t stop with the technical side. When asked what drives him, he speaks passionately about the start-to-finish process of each project, and the impact it has on building communities. His knowledge and leadership skills are what make Capa Concrete the reliable partner it is today.

In 2018, Norma and Rolando crossed paths and realized they could combine their strengths to create something bigger. Their complementary skills—Norma’s tenacity and vision and Rolando’s deep technical expertise—led to the birth of Capa Concrete, Inc.
